I met Kat at Ada and Ben’s house party in El Cerrito and I was so excited to see her again at her home in Richmond. Like many people in the Bay Area, Kat and her friends are very concerned about high cost of living and had tough questions on how California’s legislature can make an impact on the housing crisis.

I am so grateful to our hosts, Liz and John, for gathering members of their community for an intimate and informative discussion on disability rights and how the state assembly can shape California’s disability public policy.

Visiting my friend, Professor Matt Freeman’s class was a very special moment for me on the campaign. As a community college alum, I was so excited to share my story of how community college gave me the opportunity to go from living in a trailer to working in the White House.
