CARA Candidate Forum

Thank you to the California Alliance for Retired Americans (CARA) for hosting today’s candidate forum! I enjoyed sharing my commitment to working with – and for – seniors and retirees in our communities.

If elected, I pledge to work with organizations like CARA to make sure that seniors have a voice at the table in our conversations on all policy issues and reforms – from transportation, to wage equity, to health care. I will fight for investments in community-based services – like home care and para-transit service – which provide the support that seniors may need, while allowing them to live full and independent lives in their communities. I will push us towards Medicare for All, push to build more transit-based housing that is accessible and affordable–no matter your age or income, expand tenant protections and legal rights, and make our safety net stronger and more equitable for all Californians.
