Howard Dean is endorsing me!!!

Governor Dean recorded a short video message about why he’s supporting our campaign and you can watch it now!

Every endorsement is deeply personal to me, but this one takes me back to my first campaign – when Governor Howard Dean ran for president in 2004. He was against the Iraq war, for universal healthcare and was bringing to life the progressive base of the Democratic Party. His was a mission-driven campaign. We were fighting for something bigger than ourselves – it was truly a people-powered effort aimed at bringing power back to everyday Americans. In the spring of 2003, I got into my car and drove from the Bay Area to Iowa, to be an organizer for him. He was my kind of guy and I threw my heart and soul into his campaign.

I’m so honored to have Governor Dean’s endorsement in this race for Assembly District 15. Of course, we know him as an early champion for progressive values and a longtime believer in grassroots organizing, but his first elected office was in Vermont’s State Assembly. He knows leadership at the state level matters, which is why it means so much to me to have his support.

He knows the type of impact that we can have on policy at a state level and how we can create real change.

With your support and with Governor Dean’s as well, we’re taking huge steps towards Sacramento and towards big change in California.
